THE PLAYER, SEX LIES AND VIDEOTAPE and DRUGSTORE COWBOY.
At Addis/Wechsler, Ms. Davis was involved in packaging

Casting Society of America, a society of over 300 casting directors
working in film, television, and theater. They are Members of both the
Motion Picture Academy and the Television Academy.
Jane began her career in entertainment as an actress in New York.
She entered the casting profession while working in film production. Her
first project as a casting director was On the Nickel, an
independent film written, produced, and starring her friend Ralph
Waite. She soon began working on a variety of casting assignments
including a stint in the basement at Universal Television Casting.
Soon thereafter she met casting director Jennifer Shull, who
would later connect her with Janet Hirshenson.
Janet took a temp assignment at Columbia Studios, and at the end
of the day she was asked if she wanted to return the following day for
more temp work at the Rastar casting office answering phones for casting
director Jennifer Shull. And that, as they say, was how it all began.
Janet had the wonderful experience of being mentored by one of the best
for the next three years. Janet cast her first film Skatetown
U.S.A. starring a then relatively unknown dancer Patrick
Swayze.
When Shull, an old friend of Francis Coppola's, was asked to head
the casting department at Zoetrope Studios, she agreed on
condition that she could take both Janet Hirshenson and Jane Jenkins as
her associates. With the closing of Zoetrope, Jane Jenkins and Janet
Hirshenson joined forces as independent casting directors and formed
The Casting Company, In a town where associations and relationships
do not usually enjoy longevity, the Jenkins/Hirshenson partnership has
continued to thrive, allowing the duo to continue to be the creme de la
creme in casting.
